MUSEUM OF ARTS AND CRAFTS, 12-13 FEBRUARY, 2010.
Another Zagreb Wine Gouremet Festival is behind us.
We were honoured by the visit of the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Damir Bajs who spent more then one hour at the festival, enjoying the wines and delicacies, showing that Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival is recognized as an important event for building the image of Croatia as lifestyle destination.

Our golden sponsor, American Express who joined us this year and established the award "Wine of the year by American Express Card holders" is also showing that Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival has become the leader on the market.
However, it is not just that Croatian publicity has understood the importance of the Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival. This year Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival was visited by several respected journalists, wine buyers and opinion makers: Mrs. Sarah Jane Evans from BBC Good Food magazine, who is also Master of Wine (only 67 women in the world are Masters of Wine), Mrs. Caroline Gilby, who is as well Master of Wine and specialist for Central and Eastern European wines, Mrs. Christine Austin, the winner of Louis Roderer Award for the wine writer of the year 2009, Mr. Philip Sweeny, travel writer and journalist writing for The Independent, Matching Food and Wine and Rough Guides, Mrs. Sue Stlye who writes for Decanter and will make an article about Croatian wine scene, Mr. Petrer Moser, the editor of magazin Falstaff, the market leader in wines and fine gastronomy in Austria, Mr Darrel Joseph, freelance journalist who reported for Wine Spectator and jugded the Decanter competitions for years, Mr. Yann Juban, the Vice President of Organisation Internationale de la vigne et du vin, Mr. Gian Luca Mazzella, respected wine professional from Italy.
In spite of difficult economic situation, Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival gathered 140 exhibitors from Croatia and abroad (Italy, Slovenia, BiH, Serbia, Hungary, Austria, New Zealand, Germany). We are grateful to who have accepted our invitation and came to Zagreb Wine Gouremet Festival 2010 because this festival is created for them and because of them in the first place.
Beside the wine exhibition on which it was presented more then 550 top quality wines, Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival was the place of cuisine artistry: during two days manifestation 17 chefs (two of them have Michelin stars) cooked in front of the audience sharing their favourite recepies with the visitors. Beside the cooking show, Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival had in mind the wine professionals as well - special degustations dedicated to rare or special wines offered them a unique experience in participating vertical degustations, blind tastings and vintage champagnes, just to mention very few from the program. Among the workshops held in the club on the lower floor, the greatest interest was shown for Little School of Wines for Ladies and the presentation about breaking the UK wine market, held by Mrs. Christine Austin.
