„ZAGREB WINE GOURMET FESTIVAL 2009“
  Museum of Arts and Crafts on February the 27th and 28th 2009

The Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival 2009 will be held on February the 27th and 28th at the prestigious Museum of Arts and Crafts (MUO) in the centre of the city. This year’s event will gather 140 top-class wine makers from Croatia, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary and Serbia. Collectively, they will present their finest wines and the leading Croatian distributors will present countless different wine labels from around the world. Visitors will be able to sample up to 500 of the best wines whilst enjoying carefully chosen delicacies made from the excellent small producers who will also participate at this unique exhibition of the artistry of life.

This event had only begun last year and was such a success that the general public and media in attendance proclaimed the Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival, which was held at the Mimara Museum, as the superlative wine and gastronomy event of the year. In saying that, the benchmark has been set and this year’s edition will be a must see event knowing that it is a fantastic networking base for professionals in the field, hospitality services, hotel owners, F & B managers, food and beverage distributors, journalists and all those who wish to educate themselves about the range of Croatian and International offerings of top wines as well as high class gastronomy.

 

Amongst the many renowned guests at the Zagreb Wine Gourmet Festival 2009 we are honoured to announce the attendance of Karen Evenden, a writer from California and author of the book A Taste of Croatia. She is the owner of a cooking school in Los Angeles and she will be preparing her much-loved Croatian recipes. The other inaugural guest will be Lynn Sherriff, the Vice-President of the elite association Masters of Wine, who will lead a workshop on branding wines. Famous chefs from Croatia and abroad will present their culinary artistry before the audience and visitors will of course be able to taste it all. In addition, special wine-tasting will be led by sommeliers and enologists.

In conjunction with the opening of the festival, a gala evening will be held on the 26th of February with 6 chefs, 6 course meal and 6 top wines at the exclusive Emerald Hall of the Regent – Esplanade Hotel. Dinner will be prepared by leading Croatian and International chefs whilst each course will be accompanied with a specially chosen wine.
